People come to therapy for a variety of reasons. If you’ve reached a point in life where you feel stuck, overwhelmed, keep struggling in relationships, have old pain or patterns keep coming up, it might be a great time to talk to somebody. You don’t have to be falling apart or in crisis to come to therapy. This work can also help you if you want to understand yourself better or step in to a healthier version of yourself. If you’re still not sure, we can meet for a free consultation to explore what might be best for you.

This is a valid question. Despite how therapy can be portrayed, it’s not just a place to vent while lounging on a couch. Therapists are trained in a variety of evidence based treatment models that have been well researched and clinically proven to treat anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, addiction, etc. and increase mental and emotional well being.

Anxiety can look different for different people. You may find yourself feeling worried all the time, having difficulty concentrating, feeling on edge, irritable, or overwhelmed. Anxiety can manifest in our physical body, too. You may notice your body feels tense, you often have stomach aches or digestion issues, difficulty sleeping, or tightness in your chest. If you are unsure, please reach out for a free consultation call and we can explore what’s happening for you together.

If you decided to schedule an appointment after your free consultation, our first session together will be structured by my intake questionnaire. I’ll ask a variety of questions to get to know you better. It’s my goal to understand what you’ve been through, what you’re experiencing, and what it feels like to be you right now. You can share as much or as little as you are comfortable. We will also talk about what you want to get out of therapy and address any questions you may have. It’s important to me that we work towards your goals to make therapy worth your time.

After the first session, I’ll continue getting to know more about who you are. We’ll explore the stories that have shaped your life, paying attention to the parts of you that have been hurt along the way. We’ll practice growing self-awareness and self-compassion, and care for the parts of you that need care. We will explore how your experiences, environments, and inner world influence your life today. Together, we will build new ways of thinking and operating so that you can show up to life the way you want.
